No Way…impossible!

Last night Josh and I did a video shoot for an upcoming series with a family in our church.  This couple grew up in Seattle.  I related to them the story of Pastor Mark Driscoll and Mars Hill Church…a church that started 10 years ago and is running about 6,000 now in attendance.  Their reaction was something like…”NO WAY…IMPOSSIBLE.”  Seattle is a city cold to the Gospel…but Mark, his family and his people are making a huge difference.  Here’s the link to their church: http://beta.marshillchurch.org/

As I was driving to a meeting in Richmond today, I was thinking about their reaction…how cool would it be someday, for someone to meet somebody on the other side of the country and be talking about being from the DC Metro area and for them to be telling the LCC story and it’s amazing growth…and then for those listeners to be stunned…saying….”No way…that’s impossible…not in DC”

Idol Mania…here’s a challenge for you

Name 5 people you know personally who do not watch or follow American Idol.  (I can’t)

Go ahead and take the challenge.  A few years ago, I remember almost feeling a little embarassed to say I watched it faithfully.  Now, I struggle to find anyone who cannot complain with me that Sanjaya is still around.  What an American phenomenon…and I don’t think top 12 are quite as good this year.   Currents favorites for me are Blake and Jordin.  And I think Diana Ross was a little pitchy last night
