Thursday Thoughts

  • Anybody else’s week feel totally thrown off by the Wednesday holiday?
  • Looking forward to Sunday….kicking off a new series JOY - on the book of Philippians…should be fun!
  • Had a nice time at my parents yesterday for the 4th…got to visit with my grandmother - she turns 97 this month.  She’s a Word Search guru.
  • Catch any of the hotdog eating contest on ESPN?  I don’t think I want to have a hot dog for a few months…but seriously…this is now a sport?  Joey Chestnut ate 66 hotdogs in 12 minutes.  Click here for the story and video.
  • Hannah Montana is now the #1 rated cable tv show.  It’s the #2 show overall among kids ages 6-14. (behind American Idol)  It’s my kids favorite show as well.  It seems like she (Mily Cyrus) will be more famous than her dad - Billy Ray.  Maybe she is already :-)
  • Youth Ministry Flashback…On August 6-10, I will be leading our youth group to Student Life Camp for summer camp.  We are in a youth pastor transition time and I volunteered for this.  I spent 10 years in fulltime youth ministry and I love it.  Camp is a great time…should be a blast!  We still have a few spots open if any 7th-12th graders are interested!
  • oh yeah…it’s been 6 days & i’m showing no signs of  iDepression
