I’ve just uploaded about 140 pictures from camp to a Flickr Account. Click here to go and check them out. If I have time later, I will try to organize them into groups. But you will find: miscellaneous pics, lots of recreation pictures from team building day to H2O day, some pictures from the services (they didn’t allow flash photographs).Enjoy!

Here & Now
Posted in Church, Devotional Thots, Just Rambling on August 11, 2007 by Steve MarkleHere & Now was the theme of this year’s Student Life Camp. Our kids learned a ton and were challenged to grow deeper in their walk with the Lord. It was great to hear from them at the end of each night during church group share time. They heard a lot of great teaching each day. They had a morning challenge from the camp pastor - JR Vassar. They had an afternoon family group Bible study led by Donald Buttram. Then they had a evening message from JR. We gathered as a church at the end of each night to recap what God was teaching us. Here’s just a few tidbits that we learned:
- Teens should not wait until they are adults to make a difference and serve God
- We should not GO TO church, we should BE the church
- We have God’s full acceptance…we should stop focusing on receiving the acceptance of others. Some should take a “fast” from mirrors (some need to actually look in the mirror)
- Be content with the YES of God
- God uses ordinary people - like Moses, Joshua, David…me
- We should be looking to improve daily - the “discipline of improvement”
- We must do something today for God - don’t wait for tomorrow
- Don’t worry about tomorrow…stop worrying about what you are going to be doing 10 years from now…because it won’t be what you think anyway.
- Look for Jesus in the Old Testament…it’s all his story - it’s all pointing to Christ.
- We get to be a part of the story.
So much more than this…Teens and Adults who went to camp…please comment here with additional tidbits…
