On Sunday, December 9th, I had just finished preaching the last message of the Psalm 23 series. It was on Uncertainty…and I talked about how we have no idea what God has in store for us in 2008, but we must simply trust Him. Well, I didn’t know how soon I would have to put that faith into action.
That very Sunday afternoon, I had been out running an errand and got home to Sherri’s request for a private talk…upstairs…where she revealed to me the positive results of a pregnancy test. I fell over on the bed laughing uncontrollably. This is definitely not something we were planning. In fact, we were led to believe (by her doctors) that this was not a real possibility. Sherri’s last pregnancy was 8 years ago with Lexi and it was a very difficult pregnancy. But so far, so good. After all the blood work, there are no signs of any problems. She’s got 7 months to go…her due date is Aug 8th at this point. Our hope is that she will be able to complete the school year at Christ Chapel.
So keep us and especially Sherri and the baby in your prayers. I have concern for her neck and back issues with the additional weight she’ll be carrying. After the initial shock, we are now very excited about this…of course we believe it’s from God and we are praying hard for a boy
