Any news related to coffee and Starbucks catches my attention.  It looks like McDonalds is really going to try and take on Starbucks with coffee bars inside their restaurants.  Will this work?  Will McD’s compete?  The articles says the drinks will be about 60 cents cheaper.   It should be interesting to watch…

Random thoughts…

• Great start to our 2008 at LCC.  Great service yesterday.  Lillian Cooke did a great job in her dramatic presentation of the famous poem by James Weldon Johnson, The Creation.  Music was great.   Good attendance as well.
• The message was a struggle for me.  Covering Genesis 1 in 30 minutes proved to be a daunting task.  I was able to stay on track and tried not to get down into the weeds too much.  I’m not a science buff, so I get a little uncomfortable when I get into the creation/evolution arguments.  I like to leave that to the experts.  Nevertheless, I think it came off well in the end.
• We had 3 Seahawks Fan Families at church yesterday.  In fact, Jeff and Nick wore their Seattle jerseys to gloat.  Of course all this is in Christian love.  Saturday’s game was quite the emotional roller coaster…the ride is now over.  Now I need to pick a new team for the rest of the playoffs. (which is the norm)
• What’s up with this weather???
• Tom & Donald are taking our church trailer to Michigan on Wednesday/Thursday to pick up our new portable cabinets.  Our garage is going to be the holding tank for all the church property for a few days.  Pray for a safe trip for these guys.
• We introduced our 2008 prayer card yesterday.  I will be posting it later.
