Yes…it’s been awhile since I blogged…I’m going with the oral surgery excuse. About 2 weeks ago I had a 2+ hour oral surgery that ended up being an incredibly long and painful recovery. I missed almost an entire week of work and could not preach last Sunday. It was unexpected and unplanned and just about drove me crazy. I think I did pretty much drive my wife crazy. Anyway, I’m about 90% recovered now and glad to be back in the game!
Today was the last Sunday of January…and what a great day it was. This has easily been our best January ever statistically. The band was great today and I really enjoyed preaching on Moses & the Red Sea. Glad to see some new families for the first and 2nd times. We getting close to full in the cafeteria…and good problem…the school needs to hurry up and get the auditorium done!
Some miscellaneous tidbits of life…
- My 5 month old son said “dada” this week. He doesn’t realize that me, but it’s cool anyway!
- I’m definitely pulling for the Cardinals to win the Super Bowl. Go Kurt!
- My 15 yo son has his learner’s permit now…our 2nd driving session was much better than the first!
- I use too many exclamation points!!! Sorry!
- I’m hoping for a little snow this week and then I’m ready for Spring. This below 30 degrees stuff is no fun.
- I am excited about our leadership meeting this Wednesday night…got some great stuff to share and discuss.
- Josh and I had a great message series planning meeting for 2009 this week. We just about have the year mapped out. It’s going to be a lot of fun…some great creative ideas coming your way.
- I’m bummed about the 8 families in our church that have told me they are transferring away from DC this summer. It stinks! I can’t get used to it. God always sends new reinforcements…but we are losing some great people this year.
- I’m trying to remember what to do on Sunday afternoons now that football is basically over…feeling a little lost today…
