Momentum

23 02 2009

I love the momentum we are experiencing right now at LCC.  Each week seems to get more exciting as our church continues to grow.

  • Yesterday’s crowd was over 200…no holiday or any special reason…just good steady growth!
  • February Attendance average was the highest month ever
  • 3 people were baptized yesterday and we already have 5 ready for our next baptism in April.
  • 3 families officially joined the church last night at the Basics of Life class at our home
  • Offerings are up…in spite of the economy!
  • New families coming and sticking almost every week.
  • Our Kid’s Life ministry had their first QClub store yesterday and the kids were lovin’ it.
  • Lots of enthusiasm and excitement about our future relocation…the vision is real and catching on!

I just want to say a word of sincere THANKS to all the servants at LCC that make it happen each week.  Especially in our portable state, there is so much physical work that must be done…especially when you thrown in baptism and the need for more chairs, etc.  I have been freed up to focus my attention on my most important pastoral duties of Sundays and not worry about all the details.   All of you who work to make it happen are the HEROES of LCC.  Thanks for all you do!

President’s Weekend Recap

16 02 2009

Hope everyone had a nice 3-day weekend!

We left right after church yesterday to go to PA to visit my parents and grandparents.  My grandmother just had knee replacement surgery, so it was good to check in on her.  Thankfully she is doing well.  It was a nice quick trip up and back.

We’re enjoying a relaxing Monday evening…getting ready for another installment of 24 in about an hour.

Sunday was a great day at LCC.  It was great to meet some new guests and see some 2nd time guests returning.  The music was great and I was able to execute my 10 commandment message according to plan.  It was fun to use the 3 minute countdown clock for each point…although I don’t see me doing it again anytime soon.

I’m excited that we already have 4 registered for baptism this comign Sunday.  I’m expecting that we may have a few more.

I also have to give Sherry Feehs and our women’s ministry props for their work and promotion for their upcoming retreat.  Great job…it sound like it’s going to be a great getaway for our ladies.

Ed Rotchford is now helping me out big time as our Administrator.   He is helping to oversee a bunch of ministries that were reporting directly to me.  I can feel some of the load being lifted.  This is a necessary step in our growth.  It was great to see Ed in action yesterday.

Keep praying for RELOCATION.  We need for God to do 2 things for us: open up a suitable location & provide the needed resources.  We believe it’s going to happen.  PRAY HARD!

Life Church E-news ::: February 12, 2009

10 Commandments in 30 minutes…This Sunday’s message will be different from any I’ve ever preached before…We’ve come to the 10 Commandments in our series on Moses. I will be giving each commandment exactly 3 minutes…and there will be a countdown clock on the screen to keep me honest. We’re going to be challenged by God’s top 10…it’s amazing how relevant they still are for our lives today…join us this Sunday!

It’s a Bling Thing…Feel like you’ve lost a little of your God-given luster? Need a “time-out” to get your sparkle back? Join friends or make new ones at the LCC Women’s Retreat March 6 and 7th. One night away in a comfy hotel to play, chat, relax and fill your God-tank might just make you feel shiny and new again! Click here for more information.

Ready for Baptism?… Your opportunity is coming on Sunday, February 22nd. Go and register on our website. Click here.

Basics of Life Class…Are you new to LCC? Do you want to find out more about the church? Do you want to f ind out how to become an official member? My wife and I will be hosting the next class on Sunday, February 22nd from 5-8 pm at our home. Click here to register.

Hope to see you Sunday!

Steve

Week in Review

8 02 2009

Today was a great day at LCC.  The music was great today…Josh introduced the MIDI keyboard into the worship…some tight sounds during Marvelous Light…love it!  I made the first presentation to the church about THE NEXT STEP for LCC.  We are beginning to move forward with plans for relocation.  It’s in the early stages but we are looking for that next place that God has for us.  Pray that God will open the doors for us and provide the money we’ll need.

God is blessing at our church in so many ways that you may not see or even realize…

  • A New nursery worker started today – thanks Carole for volunteering!
  • Women’s Bible studies have doubled in attendance – great leadership Sherry!
  • 2 Men stepped up to totally handle communion services – Thanks Mike & Scott
  • New families attending almost every week
  • 4 people already signed up for Baptism on February22
  • This week 2 new people volunteered to serve in Children’s ministry – thanks Jackie & Liz
  • We now have a Men’s Ministry Leader…who is excited to serve in this role – Thanks Mike
  • One of our guys is coming alongside me to help carry the administrative burden…go Ed!
  • The Youth Group is doing a 30-hour famine to raise money for world hunger…they are going to raise more than a thousand bucks to help starving children and go 30 hours without food! – great leadership Donald and team!
  • The Elementary classes just shipped 3 valentine care packages overseas to our soldiers – Thanks for leading this Russ!
  • Our life groups are adding new families and going strong – thanks Dan & Nicki for leading!
  • In spite of a bad economy, our giving is consistent and the total for 2008 was $30 grand more than our previous best year

This isn’t everything…just the “off the top of my head” list.  I say all that to simply brag on God…He’s been so good to us and we’re believing him for even greater things in the days ahead.  It’s an awesome privilege to pastor a great, healthy church.

I’m excited about all we’ve got planned for 2009.  Josh and I have spent a lot of time working on all the message series for the year.  We’ve got some great stuff planned.  The March series will be “THIRSTY?”  It will be very interactive…lots of props involved…stayed tuned!
